I tend to anthropomorphize. If someone puts more books in the backpack 
already on your back, you tend to shift around to redistribute the load 
and get comfortable with it.

Unless it is just a touch-up, I tend to go through the pitch raise 
sequence every time. Between passes I often do those little things you 
always find like tightening loose screws, pencilectomies, etc.

The final/fine tuning is just a touch-up.
