[CAUT] Schwander "balancier spring neutralizer"

List,

I guess the picture isn't clear enough. The jack is actually disconnected from the spring so in essence the spring is connected to the balancier at both ends instead of one. It's as if I pulled on my own arm to try and lift myself off the ground. Does that compute??

One last bit; the spring doesn't really need to be disconnected from the jack. There is enough slack that it is not pulling at all.

List,

Attached are pics of the little device I made out of a damper wire to couple the spring to the balancier and "neutralize" it so you can measure the friction. Works great! (Thanks again Jurgen)

Someone will probable improve it before you can say "Bob's your Uncle", but this works the best out of my two or three tries.

Make sure the bend on the top is more than 90 degrees and it will stay on better.
