To check for the bridge soundboard joint (if you can't access it with a palette knife) try pressing on the bridge top (or have someone else do it if you can't reach and play at the same time). A possible quick fix, if this masks or eliminates the rattle, is a wedge of some sort between the plate and the bridge end.
