With respect...
It is my opinion that the PTG would gain much more credibility if they did not set themselves up as the only arbiter and provider of quality piano technicians.
It amazes me that anyone gets any work done around here....committee this and committee that....seems more like an old boys club with an occasional tip to the distaff side of the fence (more power to them)...
I'm sure many techs that know, shudder at the antics of 'qualified' persons...I have seen too many totally poor efforts in recent years to wonder if the 'tuner' doing the work had actually any clue at all, to subsequently find their name in the directory with a number 1 by the side....
Am I the only one who has noticed this????

If you want to spend some of that lovely money sloshing around the home office, how about compulsory re-testing every five years...THEN there could be at least a modicum of respect heading towards the PRT registration....
Why not add the last year of re testing to the registration...Fred Bloggs RPT (2010)....now we're talking....

Wonder if I have any of that Laphroig left in the cupboard....maybe I'll look for it after I put on my suit of armour....that hair shirt could come in useful.....

We ALL take ourselves waaaaaay to seriously....don't ya think?

The best way to make schools understand their pecuniary responsibilities to those working in this field is to call them out for what they are.....
