This opening was just posted on the University of Cincinnati Website and will be in the Journal and on the CAUT Page as well (Scott, are you listening in?)

Salary range is $28,730 to $45,892 depending on qualifications with the midpoint being a realistic figure given the economic climate here. Benefits are excellent. The job will be mostly tuning and regulating studio, rehearsal and classroom pianos with some concert work sprinkled in. Workload is approximately 90 pianos...mostly new Steinway and Boston. Piano Technician (210PV0570)

The University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), an "All Steinway School" seeks to fill a Piano Technician position to tune and maintain assigned pianos and other keyboard instruments. Share concert tuning duties as assigned for more than 1,000 performances and recitals a year in 6 CCM venues. Maintain instruments in assigned faculty studios, practice rooms and classrooms. Assist in maintaining service and inventory records. Work with scheduling office to coordinate assigned tuning and maintenance service with scheduled activities. Perform various refurbishing and service work in CCM shop. This position will require extensive experience in all aspects of piano tuning and repair. Proven skill in regulation and voicing of Steinway pianos is essential. Experience in working with harpsichords and other historic instruments including experience in working with historic temperaments is a plus.

Job Description: Under general supervision from a designated supervisor, maintain pianos and harpsichords at the College Conservatory of Music.

Min. Quals.: Bachelors degree with 1 year experience; OR associate degree with 3 years experience OR 5 years experience. Degree must be in Music or related field. 1 year experience with a master craftsman.

Ideal Qualifications: Registered Piano Technician status in Piano Technicians Guild preferred. Experience in a college or university setting a plus. Strong verbal and written communications skills desired. Use of Microsoft Office including Access database applications a plus.
