Dave, I service quite a few Yamaha P22's and have not noticed the problem you've mentioned. But since virtually every thing in that pedal mechanism is metal, your suggestion that the tubular metal is bending doesn't seem too unlikely a diagnosis. But I can't confirm it for you. Bob
