I am servicing a Steinway D that has hammers that are hard as rocks. Even the crown of the hammer has been lacquered. Does anyone have any suggestions for softening these rocks? Someone suggested a few drops of lacquer thinner on the crown. Has anyone had any success with this. Thanks, Joe Ross Rochester, NY
