Bill -

Our 12 year old son Mark, whom you met at your all-day workshop in
Lexington, has these two suggestions:

- Use infrared, but set up differently. Use alarm-type, a beam between two
pts (piano & head) that when broken by slight movement, closes another
circuit, the pedal activator. This may well require significantly less head
movement.

- If the person uses a wheelchair, use buttons on the arm rest or other part
of the wheelchair.

Best of luck. This is the kind of challenge that many of us would
expect that *you* would gladly accept and meet with panache (sp?)<g>
Eagerly awaiting news of final contraption.
