Howdy to all repected memebers of the list, I was looking at doing some damper replacement on an older grand and started to ponder... I was wondering if someone would explain the reason for the "base" felt layer (usually colorful) on the damper head. Is the base felt mostly used as a visual contrast or does it provide some advantage in the glueing operation or is there something else simple I am overlooking? Thanks for any information, doug richards drichard@qntm.com San Jose, CA
