Hi to Ryan and others:

Servo devices have been thought of long ago for use in piano tuning.
Tom Cobble has an excellent device for turning tuning pins extremely
accurately. Only in a factory would it ever be practical, and even
then the cost would be prohibitive, the downtime a real production
worry, etc.  Many years ago Wurlitzer tried an automatic stringing
machine, so did Schimel in Germany. They both wasted a lot of money
on something that can be done better by labor. Aren't you glad?
