Hi to Ryan and others: Servo devices have been thought of long ago for use in piano tuning. Tom Cobble has an excellent device for turning tuning pins extremely accurately. Only in a factory would it ever be practical, and even then the cost would be prohibitive, the downtime a real production worry, etc. Many years ago Wurlitzer tried an automatic stringing machine, so did Schimel in Germany. They both wasted a lot of money on something that can be done better by labor. Aren't you glad? Jim Coleman, Sr.
