Actually, this is a quote from Les Bartlett's original post. The "I" is the
unnamed technician who is making him an offer.

My phone conversation comment was:

Jim, this sums it up even better. I might add, if the offer makes one
uncomfortable enough to ask the list about it, the answer should _usually_
be "no."
