Kevin,
        Try using a drum sander on the drill press.  Just clamp a fence on
to  the drill press table and  run the key through.  If you have a table
that tilts, it is possible to level those keytops level to within a tenth of
a thousanth of an inch.  Your new keytops will feel just like a table top
when finished.
