On a frequently tuned piano as you mentioned, I still strip mute for touch
up tunings when time constraints allow.  This allows me to verify accuracy
for the entire piano and make adjustments as necessary.

When time does not allow, then only the most obvious discrepancies would
receive the wedge treatment.
