Size and Sound

Ed,

How do you judge? Very simply - by the sound and touch that _you_ want that
fits your budget.

I sometimes laugh at myself because my C7 is not only too big for my living
room (19 x 12), it's probably too big for my house. But, it has the sound
and touch I wanted that fit my budget.

Go try out the pianos, choose the one that speaks to you. When you get it
home, tweak it to fit your individual needs. (I assume you are a teckie; it
you aren't, find one who will work with you and be prepared to pay her well
(or him). All sorts of options are open. For example, my floors are
hardwood, so I have a thick carpet with a thick pad as well as carpet under
the caster cups. This takes care of the too loud sound for the house but
doesn't diminish the sound when I'm playing. (Of course, being a piano tech,
my wonderful piano currently does need some TLC, but what else is new <g>.)
