Hmmm, a contemporary collectible? Barry/other, help me on this one. I think this vintage indicates that Alfie was still in a hands-on mode, and perhaps prior to labo(u)r union problems across the pond...? Liked the pianos -- didn't tune enough of them to become comfortable though. Due to the plate design (I suppose), I always over-compensated across the bass/tenor break when pitch-raising, and by the time I saw another one, I'd already forgotten about the phenomenon. If I had space and budget, I'd like to park a Knight, a Fandrich, and a Seiler in the same room. All verticals, and not for comparisons, just another case of men and their toys. [Wonder if this will sneak by?] Sorry no help on a price, Dan, but maybe a suggestion for your tagline. What about "The beautiful La Crosse (between the Mississippi River and the bluffs)". I suppose the Mississippi is better "eye candy" further upstream, but your town is certainly beautiful. As a road musician, I worked La Crosse just after Appleton, and recall going up in the hills and overlooking... 3, 4 states? Awesome! harvey PS: List, excuse any syntax or incomplete thought errors. I'm really tired tonight from spacing and traveling at the same time on a Steinway stack which was the tip of the iceberg and I think Mr. Page and I are of the same mind set at the moment. I shouldn't be here now, but needed a list-fix! At 08:51 PM 9/7/98 -0600, you wrote: >One of my customers has a Knight console made in 1963. She wants to >know what to ask for it. I hope I'm not out of line in asking the list. [cut]
