I am a recent graduate of the Randy Potter. For the tuning evaluation
tapes, the first few tapes (3 or 4) are unisons in different parts of
the piano, so that absolute pitch isn't that critical. For the final
tuning tape which is made after doing a complete tuning, the first thing
recorded is note A440. Presumably, Randy calibrates his player (and or
ETD) accordingly.
