After it was explained to me thusly.....

"How many years in a millenium?"
Answer: 1000

"How many years in two milleniums?"
Answer: 2000

So for the year 2000 to be the first year of the third millenium, doesn't
that mean that one of the first two milleniums had to have only been 999
years?
