Yes, John, you seem to have all of the latest ideas in your grasp.  The 
octave & minor 7th gives you the best possible RBI control in the low bass.  
Getting them smooth will give your piano that beautiful controlled resonance 
that is expected of the modern piano tuned in ET. 

The 4:5 ratio of contiguous 3rds throughout the mid range (F2-A4) will insure 
that you have control of your 3rds.  If, while you are checking over the 
midrange, you detect some unevenness in your RBIs, the 4:5 test will point 
out where you may have made a 4th or 5th too pure or too tempered.  Once you 
have a really good midrange, any slight unevenness in your outer octaves will 
not constitute the Reverse Well error.
