pitch raises & tuning pins

Hi again Ron:

In 57 years of piano tuning I have only had one tuning pin break. This was
at the becket hole. The string remained tightly in place. Only the top third
of the hole broke away. This was on a very tightly pinned baldwin in the 
factory where the torque had exceeded 250" lbs.
