Not quite so.  Lacquer dries from the outside in and can
remain soft for weeks and weeks.  Varnish never quite dries
until all the volatilesx are gone, some years and years.  

Build a vault around it or place it so kids and stupid
adl\ults cannot get to it.

I would put a cover over the strings.
