On average, how would Cents translate to "pounds"? For example, if a piano
was, on average, 30 cents flat, that would translate to approximately how
many pounds of lost tension? 5 lbs per string x 230...or 10 lbs per string =
approx 2,300 lbs. I find that my customers much more readily grasp the
correlation of Flatness to LOST pounds of tension, rather than explaining
"Cents". Of course, every piano, from spinets to grands, will have varying
string tension totals, but I'm just looking for a ball park figure here.
Thanks!
