Newton,

Well, that that's not an indication of long life. What did it take? A day
or two after you got it set up and used it for the first time?

I can sympathize since I made the same mistake years ago though I've long
since gotten rid of the thing. I even repeated my mistake, though, and
later bought a Crapsman belt sander. It was 'on sale' and seemed like such
a good deal. How could I go wrong?

Now, I don't use a belt sander much, but once in a while they are useful.
So, after using the thing a couple of times the switch gave out. About two
weeks out of warranty, naturally. Try as I might, I couldn't figure out how
to get the thing apart to get at that switch. When I was told that the only
way to 'fix' the switch was to send the sander in for a 'complete rebuild'
at a cost of only $5.00 more than I had paid for the bloody thing, I trashed
it and vowed to never buy another Crapsman anything ever again. That was
about 25 years ago and I've never regretted that decision.

Regards,

Del
