The Journal on CD is identical to the Journal as it was originally published - advertisements and all! The photographs have a higher DPI to facilitate printing. The PTJ on CD is a collection of 4 CDs. The ECC labored months to find a way to make them universally searcheable - like put in CD1 and be told where to find stuff on CDs 2,3 and 4. Thanks to the Emerson Index, which is published on these CDs, this universal feature will be useable. Everything is included - it's just figuring out how to find what you are looking for! It will be extrememly important to read the instructions on the jacket cover for using these CDs. You will need to use the appropriate version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to build the universal indexes. The biggest point to remember will be to know the difference between "search" and "find" They do different things. You WILL be able to select text and photographs and print them out. You just need to make sure you have properly followed the instructions There is also a big difference between "select" and "text select" tools. There will also be tech support from the Home Office, but I can't stress enough to read the instructions that come with these CDs. These CDs will become an invaluable tool, and I am please that the Piano Technicians Guild has made such a contribution to the trade!
