Well the Royal Gorge felt made  in Lancashire England  closed down 
somewhere around then, production moved elsewhere  change of water !

The two main ingredients for making felt water and wool

BTW Renner was one of RG's biggest clients,  ask a Scotch man if water 
makes a deference.
