This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Dear list and friends On my long experience installing programs on different machines, I = learned to not, repeat NOT advise on upgrading to anything freely, = Windows or better said Microsoft Windows is a mistery to us all.=20 The most stable system, and I still advise it for companies is Windows = 95 and NT.=20 I have been installing 98, ME, 2000.. in all the machines I assemble = upon request. All of them are unpredictable. It seems to me there is a = lot to do with the Machine architecture. Some of them will have no = problems at all, and others will do.=20 Myself I bought Windows ME. I realy like its features, I installed it in = my late machine, which was a Pentium I 233 wit 128 Mb memory and it = kept collapsing. Simultaneously I installed it in my LapTop a Compaq = Presario 1200 wich uses a K6-2 500 plus 128 Ram Memory and it has not = failed once until today, My recently upgraded desktop is a PC partner = motherboard with K6-2 500 also and 128 MB memory, and after I installed = win ME it has some problems but not many.=20 For customers I was asked to upgrade computers to 2000, I had some which = would not take it, as I have many of the new ones which are absolutely = reliable and free of trouble.=20 Some machines, dependin their architecture will take it, some will not. = Most of the new Motherboards and parts which have been designed with = this Operating Systems in mind will work, and will give no problems at = all.=20 Elian Degen ----- Original Message -----=20 From: David Ilvedson, RPT=20 To: pianotech@ptg.org=20 Sent: Friday, January 12, 2001 1:29 PM Subject: Re: Windows 2000...Attn Mac Users! I = undestand there will be a new system out next year or so... NT, 2000 and = previous windows technology are supposed to merge into one thing. Might = be worth waiting for.=20 "David Ilvedson, RPT" wrote:=20 List, Does anyone use Win 2000? If so, please give me some = feedback...I have been considering the ME upgrade.
