tapping tuning pins...

Hi, tapping tuning pins is different to the whole force used to hammer in
all the pins when stringing. But, if you want, take a look in your car's
trunk, maybe it has a cantilever car jack to use as support, else two blocks
one below the plank, one on the keybed and two wedges in between.
If you go the glue route, yes, use the thinest "hot stuff" stuff, remove
action, use newspaper. Go through it once, apply until it's soaked in, and
do it again. Though given your time limit you have to decide which to do.
Being an S&S you may want to improve your salesman skill and sell the person
a proper restring job even if this "fix" is all that is required for today.
