Newton and Joseph: Thanks for your input. Newton, I think the word "dado" is the one I was looking for to describe the grooves in the back of this rail. Joseph, thanks for the tip and I will check under the cheek blocks. Not a major piano technology problem, but I hate being unable to service a piano the way I see it needs. Patrick
