A thinner block will yield less pin / block contact area. Pi*D*H where D=diameter and H=height. Consider the total amount of contact area of the pin in the regular block and the amount in the thinner block. Bear in mind you will have to use 1/2" shorter pins. Now figure the % difference. Other than that, as long as you have the plate height set right, there will be little difference. Newton
