Hi Terry, Finishing isn't my thing, but this sounds familiar. Do you use a wool wax or other lubricant with the final rubdown? If the clear coat wasn't like that, I'd rub down again with wool wax (very watery). I think it may just be refraction from surface scratches, which the wax fills. Ron N
