An HP FFT Spectrum Analyzer.
I tested for the power and sustain of the various harmonics in the wave
envelope with both tuned and untuned duplex string segments. The tuned
string segments were taken both above and below the closest logical partial.

The tests were not exhaustive but were carried far enough to satisfy my need
to know.
