Tight Damper Flanges

Tommy,

New wires really aren't as difficult as you might think. You just have to
get then hang of bending (which also isn't as bad as it seems.) I might
think more along the lines of buffing. A buffing wheel with extremely fine
compound mounted on the bench grinder arbor might do that job although I
have to be honest that I haven't tried it. You may still want to mic the
wire at different spots to see if it's flared...

Allen:
Reiinstalling the old damper wires. There are deep, deep marks from the
screws being too tight. I am going to again do a little filing on the
indentation and I also wonder if the screws may have "flatten" the round
wire
a bit at this spot. I will know after a while. I also now wonder since I
have
screwed up the old damper wires with 0000 steel wool can I salvage these
wires and polish up the scratches with the scotch guard ?
Thanks
