Hi David,
You should let Schaff know. I don't think that is their normal policy. =
Possibly one employee, not thinking.
You could say, that you could order it for her, but there would be a =
handling fee. Mind you, that would probably mean that you could not take =
your usual mark-up.
I suppose, what could determine your action, is to ask yourself, do you =
want to keep this customer.
A supply house in Canada, has their site online, and anyone can order, =
but there is a confidential price list for techs. Sometimes their =
mark-up is less than what the techs might be. They do not sell =
Dampp-Chaser products to the general public.
Regards,
John M. Ross

Subject: Supply house confidentiality on prices

Awhile ago we were discussing whether wholesale prices on supply house =
items were available to the general public. Case in point. A customer =
of mine needing a piano cover called Schaff (found the label on her =
other cover) to inquire about availability and price. They were more =
than forthcoming about prices etc., without asking her any questions or =
about her account status. She did not order the item for fear that they =
would ask her if she were a technician. Rather, she called me with the =
price to ask if I could order it for her. I guess that's known as =
getting the Schaff.
