Subject: Upright Lid Removal

> Anyone know how a 1913 M&H lid is attached. Most that I have seen have to
or more wood screws going into the framing and have the heads sticking out.
Slots are recessed into the bottom of the lid and the lid slides onto these
screw heads. Is this how this one is attached? If so, which way do I pound
on the lid - pound from the front or the rear? Thanks.

There are two ways to remove one of these lids. (Three if you include the
screw-on lids and you'll soon find out if this lid is one of those. If not,
you're down to two.)
    1) You can break it off.
    2) You can cut it off.

See my earlier post on removing the sides and repeat the process.
