I'm assuming this action has the standard bumper rail (mounted on 
threaded rod at the action breaks). You could try firmer felt there, 
and depend on the bumper rail to keep the shanks from whacking the 
rep lever adjust screws.

If the rep post height is the only fatal difference, you could 
separate the post, trim it down on a table saw, and reglue it. Maybe 
Lloyd Meyer can tell you what Renner's glue releases with.
