Tom, Alcohol, by it's basic nature, absorbs moisture from the air. This can be up to about 10% by volume, and in relation to the percentage of moisture in the air. So, I would want at least a 20% moisture content for the alcohol/water mixture to do it's work on the felt bushings. If you add too much, the water will counteract the wicking action of the alcohol.
