Isopropyl Alcoho (Rubbing Alcohol/Roger)

No, Roger! Bad Dog!<G> "Rubbing Alcohol", unless purchased from a Pharmacy,
has OILS & ESTERS added, and should NOT be used for flanges! I have
Isopropyl Alcohol Pharmaceutical grade, in my shop. I use it exclusively to
thin "DAG", which is the appropriate "thinner" for it. Yes, the
Pharmaceutical grade can be used for flanges, but why? As to adding water to
any alcohol, straight off the shelf, is not necessary, if it is 100 proof,
it will already have 50% water in it. This, IMHO is sufficient to do the
"shrinking" job. Any higher water content will likely attack the glue
holding the bushing cloth. (Flame Suit tightly Zipped, for this last
statement!)
