This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Sorry I didn't mean curve in the strikeweight line. (Duh). =20 I meant the curve in the ratio line. Regulation could=20 affect DW/UW which is used to calculate ratio. This would show up as curve in the BW line. The ratio line actually corresponds pretty well to=20 how the action feels when it is played. Most=20 normal in tenor and low treble, heavy in bass and higher treble. I will recheck some strikeweights with tail down,=20 but if the tail is in line with the strike point and=20 shank is horizontal (i.e. horizontal distance=20 from center pin is same) why would weights=20 not be the same? Initially I didn't spend much time checking=20 dip and blow and checked only a couple of=20 notes. Obviously its an issue so I will look=20 at this more to get a complete picture. -Mark ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Richard Brekne=20 To: PTG=20 Sent: Sunday, June 08, 2003 6:18 AM Subject: Re: 1999 Steinway L with heavy action Mark continues=20 =20 I think it's probably a regulation issue that is causing the curve = in the strikeweight line.Perhaps I need to re-regulate and remeasure = DW/UW. I'll definitely look into it further. Mark, since the SW's are taken completely independant of the action = and its regulation, this cant be a regulation issue. The Strike Weights = weigh what they do. Perhaps you should get your local Touchweight tech = to take a look at things eh ?=20 Cheers=20 RicB=20 ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
