Shank Lengths for Steinway L

Very often higher treble are glued at 129 or whatever.

more than 130.2 is certainly felt as heaviness and slugginess. But
indeed not as silmpleto ascertain the real center of the hammer a mean
between left and right is helping if unsure.

measuring between the strike point and the drop screw base (hammer at
rest) gives another useful information. 142 mm often.
