Thanks for the levelheaded approach and pointing out how important it is to 
see--and hear--things from other people's perspective.

And I agree with James about aural vs. digital.  I have tuned aurally for 
years, though I use Tunelab to get my pitch and sometimes when I'm in a hurry and 
the piano is crummy.  For nicer pianos and picky clients, I go with whichever 
method they prefer.

PS  Turns out the violinist liked my tuning after a day's deliberation and
