how true yet there are simply some types of production functions that are
not possible on a on a table saw when the splitter/guard is attached. IE. I
use a rib crowning table saw jig & it can't have other stuff on the table
when I use it. I am very careful and count all the fingers before I hit the
on button & also the usual mental gymnastics about safety. I just bought a
safety device for feeding stock thru when ripping ribs etc from larger pieces
which are anti kick back.

The problem with disabling any kind of "safety" equipment (much of which,
it seems to me, introduces as much chance for injury as it protects
against), is that one can wind up uninsured. That is, if you take off
and/or disable such a system; and you (or, worse, someone else) is injured,
your insurance company can call foul, and legally refuse to pay...in CA, at
least, your actions might be considered fraud, and themselves be criminally
actionable. YMMV.

Best.
