consistent downbearing measurements

Thanks Dale. I've been doing just that but I'm not happy with the=20
repeatability of measurements. There's just got to be a better way. Any=20
other gauges out there? I seem to remember a Journal article with a dial=20
gauge of some kind. Am I dreaming?
