damper pedal problem

Maggie,

Ha! I accidentally made this happen to a piano once. Somehow, as the
damper lever (in the trapwork) rises, it is also hoisting the una corda
lever. Get under the piano and see what is happening when you push on the
damper pedal. (In my case, the lever stop block I had installed on the
damper lever shifted and caught the una corda lever as well.) Who knows why
it is happening all the sudden in your case. In my case, I, uh, goofed.
Hmmm,
was I supposed to admit that? :-)
