Joe, you and are more in agreement here than you may think. I will snip your post to keep bandwidth down, if you don't mind.> > "As for the olde glue, it was one of two: 1. keytop> material dissolved in acetone, (a very thick mixture)." Yes, as I understood it from Dad the camphor acted as a quick drying agent. I have often thought that it was just a aroma addition to insure that you close the lid of the glue container. As I said the formula was non scientific :-) 2. "A glue similar to Duco Cement, except it was "thinned" with denatured alcohol." I have used Amco Cement Thin Line and Dot from American Handicrafts for years, it is water soluble, in a tube and thinner than Duco as I remember. "A modern > version is "SF Clear Glue, All Purpose", made by Snow Foam Products. It's > available at "Crafts" stores and is used to glue Styrofoam. It's thinner is > denatured alcohol, so I suspect it's the same stuff." Thanks for this tip! > "Personally, I'd just CA those cheap puppies. Either that, or replace them > and be done with it." Your bottom line is just that and I can not disagree.... I hope everyone is still as stuffed as I am from yesterday!<G> Hubert Liverman Opelika, AL >
