Another alternative is to go to your local music store and pick up a finger exercizer.  It's called a Gripmaster and guitar players use them all the time.  Costs about $15.  You can view them online.  Just run a Google search for Gripmaster.

To add weight to your Yamaha grand and bring it more into uniformity with the average customers piano seems like a move in the wrong direction to me.  I would probably try selling some regulation jobs to bring the average customers piano closer to the touch of your Yamaha.

I couple of years ago, my wife and I toured the Charles Walter factory in Indiana.  We were very impressed with their grands because of the lighter touch.  Perhaps someday, we'll be able to afford one.  That's our dream piano.
