Where to notch a bridge, & relative effects ????? ( Advice sought )

Shouldnt we be thinking about making sure there is enough downbearing to 
do this ??  Just a tanke :)

the string imprint depth, renotch to mid-pin line, put a couple drops of
thin epoxy down bridge pin holes, dip new pin in epoxy and insert pin into
hole. Clean up squeeze out with acetone.
