Hi Julia
Burning angle refers to the process of heating shanks up so as to be
able to twist the shank so the hammer lines up better on its intended
path at rest. This is usually the last step involved in installing new
hammers. If the shanks are traveled well enough to begin with, and the
hammers are glued on well then you shouldnt need to do much of this.
The less the better actually. Shanks can get a bit rubbery if heated to
often or too much.
