Howdy from warm and sunny Texas! I came across an interesting piano the other day. It's a F. Kain & Sohn (84 keys) from Stuttgart. The Piano Atlas numbers don't go back far enough for this one (# is 6279) but the owner thinks it's from late 1800s. The case is in fantastic shape but the inside needs a lot of work. She wanted it tuned, everyone else had refused, and I managed to at least get it in tune with itself (50 cents flat) without breaking any strings. (sigh of relief!) The owner loves to gather historical stuff but doesn't want to spend the money to fix up the innards. Any info you can share on this instrument?
