Gregor- Get some clothes hangers and start experimenting. There are many solutions. The PTG Technical Exam Source Book (available on ptg.org) has 5 articles on string splicing. There are also good articles in the PACE Repair Lessons and in the Piano Technician's Guide to Field Repairs...and you get a lot more information about other techniques. Ed Sutton
