Black lacquer finish Questions

Brett,

I'm definitely NOT a refinisher but something I picked up from my
rebuilding partner about 15-20 yrs. ago was to stain the piano
black before "refinishing". Assuming you want it black, of course.
That way, when the finish gets rubbed off or knocked off, it's
not so obvious!
