Bringing the best skills, the most honesty, to every single client, every single situation is a big part of the high end---and how you treat yourself, self-respect, is a big part as well. Good thread. David Andersen Absolutely David, My point exactly! You make your own high end wherever you happen to be - whatever the market. My business revolves around a big chunk of the concert work in the city we live in and its region, but we also do everything else in between. Everything from dodgy PSO's right through. But even if the piano is not up to it, we'll counsel our customer about how it is affecting the student's playing and support them through the process of finding the best they can afford. My buzz comes from the WOW experience (like Dave Talcott's) for others as well as for myself (selfish huh?). I love watching students realise their own potential when given a better opportunity to discover it - ie a better instrument - through either good servicing, rebuilding or replacement. Thank you all for your role in providing me with the knowledge and gumption to aspire to higher standards.
